Irwin 1927 - 2007 William G. Irwin, 79, of Bixby, Oklahoma, formerly of Muskogee, died Friday, February 2, 2007 at St. Francis Hospital in Tulsa. He was born July 5, 1927 in Leedey, Oklahoma to Lee and Minnie (Bugh) Irwin. William graduated from Hammond High School in 1945. He served in the U. S. Army at Aberdeen Proving Grounds in Aberdeen, Maryland. After his return from military service, he attended Oklahoma A & M, which later became Oklahoma State University, in Stillwater and received a Bachelors Degree in Animal Husbandry. After college, he went to work for the Mural Shorthorn Ranch in Illinois caring for and showing registered shorthorn cattle. William moved to Muskogee in 1956 and accepted a job with the Bureau of Indian Affairs. After retiring from the Bureau he moved to Bixby, Oklahoma in 1983 and began working as an independent appraiser. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge in Muskogee. William was preceded in death by his wife, Vada Marie Irwin and grandson, David Mills. He is survived by two daughters, Geraldine Moses, and her husband Mike and Barbara Casselman, both of Warner, OK; brother, Harold Irwin, and his wife Ruth, of Hammon, OK; niece, Bama Blount, and her husband Dan of Oklahoma City, nephew, Robert Irwin, of Hammon, OK; great-niece, Elisha Wheeler, of Edmond, OK; two great-nephews, Curtis Irwin, of Hammon, OK and Brent Blount, of Oklahoma City; great-great-niece, Kyra Jae, of Edmond and great-great-granddaughter, Sharise Demmitt, of Henryetta, OK. Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, at Memorial Park Cemetery Mausoleum with Rev. Loren Welch officiating. Interment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. Funeral service arrangements are under the direction of Foster-Petering Funeral Home.
