Willard Leroy Henney passed away peacefully at home in the presence of his family on 
August 16, 2007. He was born on March 16, 1924 in Bixby, Okla.. Son of William J. Henney 
and Bessie Estella Shellenbarger, he moved to the Rogue Valley in 1938 where Leroy 
met his future wife, Elsie Sabina Saunders, and they married on July 26, 1942 at 
Central Avenue Church of Christ which is now Rogue Valley Christian Church. Leroy 
and Elsie made their home in the Rogue Valley for most of their 65 years of marriage. 
Besides his wife, survivors include his children, Charles David Henney, (Georgia), 
Alfred John Henney (Jill), Ruth Ann Miller, Lois Jeanette Springer (Daniel), and 
Ralph Leroy Henney (Cindy), 11 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, numerous 
nieces and nephews, brother, Richard Paul Henney, and sister, Grace Novian. 
Preceded in death by sisters, Sylvia Trim, Nellie Jean Weide and brother, Mildren Henney.

Leroy was an active member of The Rogue Valley Christian Church, where he had served 
as an Elder for over 40 years. He was a member of several organizations; Disabled 
American Veteran; the Governor appointed Electrician Apprentice Commission and 
Carpenter Union Association. He attended OIT where he served as Student Body President.

Leroy is a veteran of the Pacific Theater during World War II where he received 
numerous medals including a Purple Heart while serving as Army Platoon Sergeant 
of the 7th Inf. Div. 45.
He was proprietor of A-1 Radio and TV Service for 35 years on North Central Avenue 
in Medford, Ore.. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, especially tying flies for fly 
fishing, photography, candle making, and huckleberry picking.

Services will be held at Rogue Valley Christian Church at 1440 S. Oakdale Ave, 
Medford, Ore., Monday, 11:00 a.m., August 20, 2007. Interment will be at Eagle 
Point National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Rogue 
Valley Christian Church Missions Fund at 1440 S. Oakdale Ave., Medford, Ore., 
97501 or Parkinson's Foundation.
