All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ========================================================================== Joann Brazee Osage County News Service (OCNS) http://ocns.freeyellow.com/ Email: ocns@hotmail.com ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ HERSHEL "PETE" FLOWERS OCNS - April 15, 2002 - Hershel "Pete" Flowers, 72, of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, went to be with the Lord at 9:58 p.m., April 10, 2002, at Saint John's Hospital, Tulsa. He was preceded in death by his wife, Velma Ruth Flowers, December 20, 2001. Hershel, known to everyone in Broken Arrow as Mr. Pete or Mr. Flowers, operated/owned a DX Station at Main and Houston and, for many years, was a truck driver for M.F. Bales. He also worked for Broken Arrow public schools at Haskell Middle school and then to northeast elementary (known as Rhodes Elementary). He loved everyone, had many friends among his coworkers. Pete worked for public schools for over fifteen years as custodian and was very proud of his job. He was a member of Northside Freewill Baptist Church in Broken Arrow where funeral services were held Monday, April 15, under the direction of Christian-Gavlik Funera Home. Survivors include one sister, Iva Cutbirth, 94, of Broken Arrow; one brother, J.C. Flowers of Phoenix, Arizona; five sons, Robert Flowers and wife, Karen, Mike Flowers and wife, Connie, "Skip" Roberts and wife, Janet, Ronnie Roberts and Jerry Roberts; three daughters, Kathy McElroy and husband, Jim, DeAnn Meeder and husband, Harold; twenty-one grandchildren, eighteen great grandchildren and a host of friends. "We will miss him dearly, but to see the smile on his face when he met Jesus and went to be with his wife, mother, father, sister, brothers and many other loved ones who have gone to be with our Savior Jesus Christ and will meet you again, Dad, Grandpa and Uncle Pete".
