Mrs. S. W. Goodpaster, 53, Muskogee resident for the past 28 years, died Sunday afternoon at her home on Chandler Street, east of the city, following a lingering illness. Born 2 Jan 1897, at Pryor, Mrs. Goodpaster had lived all her life in eastern OK. She was married 8 Jan 1916 at Wagoner to Sam W. Goodpaster, who survives her. Funeral service will be held at 2:30 pm Monday at the Church of God with Rev. James Davis officiating, assisted by Rev. Benny Ketchum of Coweta. Burial will be in New Home Cemetery at Peggs, under direction of the Petering Funeral Home. In addition to her husband, Mrs. Goodpaster is survived by a daughter, Ella Mae Goodpaster of Coweta, 3 sons, John & Bobby Goodpaster both of the home, and Bert Goodpaster of the US Navy, 2 sisters Mrs. Willie Mae Fought of Rose, OK and Miss Ozella Brock of Oroville, CA, 3 brothers Hubert Brock of Tulsa, Lum Brock of Rose, and Luther Brock of Dallas, TX and 2 grandchildren. -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Return to Wagoner County Archives: http://www.usgwarchives.net/ok/wagoner/wagoner.html
