He had been in failing health for several years and two weeks before he passed away was stricken with the flu, his lungs became affected and the complications proved too much for his frail body. He passed away peacefully to his last rest. "Daddy" Goodpaster, as he was familiarly called by his close friends, was saved many years ago and he possessed full salvation, we believe, until he went home. He was married to Miss Ella Reedy in his early manhood and to this union nine children were born, five of whom are still living. His wife preceded him in death several years. He was a member of the Church of God in Coweta and was faithful to his Church duties. He will be greatly missed by the saints in and around Coweta. He leaves to mourn his passing, three daughters, Mrs. W. R. Newcomb of Coweta, Mrs. Glen Wood of Pawhuska, and another daughter in Ohio; also two sons, Jess Goodpaster of Wagoner, and Sam Goodpaster of Pawhuska, besides a host of friends and relatives. We shall be waiting to meet him on the great resurrection morning, when the saved rise from the ground. He was laid to rest in the Peggs cemetery beside his wife and daughter. ========= Wagoner Record Democrat, Obituary: J. O. Goodpaster Dead J. O.
