Injured were Edith Martin, 59, 452 N.E. Elmhurst, who remains in fair condition with neck and back pains in Jane Phillips Episcopal Memorial Medical Center, and Wanda Haywood, 29, 904 Choctaw, who was treated and released for back injuries in the emergency room Saturday night. The two women were passengers in a car driven by Lowell Martin, 59, 452 N.E. Elmhurst. The police accident report says that the Martin vehicle was stopped on U.S. 75 preparing to make a left turn onto Nebraska St. It says a car driven by Paul Francis Brown, 47, 3828 N.E. Ohio struck the Martin car in the rear after leaving 67 feet of skid marks. Paul Brown was booked into the county jail on a charge of driving and operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of an intoxicating beverage. The Martin vehicle, a 1969 Buick, sustained $1,700 in damages. The Brown vehicle received $200 in damages. The two women were transported to the hospital by Stumpff Ambulance Service. WASHINGTONFOOTER
