Adcock died Thursday evening in a local medical complex. Funeral services for Mrs. Adcock will be held Monday at 3:00 p.m. in the sanctuary of the First Baptist Church of Ramona with Revs. Kenton White, Kevin Baker and Bill Conling officiating. Pallbearers will be her grandsons; Burr Gagan, Raymond Gagan, Wade Miller, DeWayne Adcock, Burke Adcock, Johnny Joe Morgan, Clayton Adcock, Lance Battles, Coty Battles, Jay Adcock, Blake Rambin and Cory Highsmith. Honorary pallbearers will be Mike Burkhart, Richard Gagan, Doc Miller, Tommy Morgan, Lester Gagan, Grant Highsmith and Jerry Wright. Burial will be on the family plot in the Ramona Cemetery under the direction of the Walker-Brown Funeral Home. A memorial has been established in her name for those who wish to contribute may do so to the Caney Valley Medical Clinic, 408 Wyandotte Place, Ramona, Oklahoma 74061. The family will receive friends Sunday afternoon at 5:00 p.m. at the Walker-Brown Funeral Home. Mrs. Adcock was born on October 18, 1918 to Frank and Cora Ann (Eades) Harris on the family ranch near Ramona. She received her education in Ramona Public Schools. She married Elwood J. Adcock on October 15, 1935. They spent their entire lives living within 10 miles of their birth places. Until 1958, they farmed, ranched and had a commercial cattle and hay bailing and hauling business. Helen often helped Elwood in the business while raising her family. In 1957, Elwood took the job as ranch foreman on the Roy E. Cobbs ranch east of Ramona. They lived and worked there until retirement, at which time they moved to the family farm northeast of Ramona. After Elwood's death in June, 1989, Helen continued living on the farm for a while before purchasing a house in Ramona, where she lived until her death. Helen was a member of the Ramona Baptist Church. She had a large family that she loved. She was usually called "Granny" by her family and most of her many friends. Helen is survived by three sons, Dan and Kathy of Collinsville, Robert (Bob) and Glenda of Miami, Texas and Frank and Sandi of Sedan, Kansas, nine daughters; Rubyanne (Mrs. Mike) Burkhart of Bartlesville, Mary (Mrs. Richard) Gagan, Kay (Mrs. Floyd) Miller, Nellie (Mrs. Tommy) Morgan, Sherrie Battles, Moni Rambin, Becky (Mrs. Lester) Gagan, Robin (Mrs. Grant) Highsmith, all of Ramona and Barbara (Mrs. Jerry) Wright of Nowata; 35 grandchildren, 61 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren as well as numerous relatives and a host of friends.
