All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ========================================================================== Daily Oklahoman 3 Aug 2002 Ball, Robert Lee Robert Lee, our beloved husband, son and devoted father, passed away July 30, 2002 at his home in Duncanville, Texas. He was born August 5, 1950 in Little Rock, Arkansas, the only son of Clyde C. & Marcelle Wanamaker Ball. A graduate of John Marshall High School in Oklahoma City, he attended OU as a National Merit Scholar, graduating in 1972. He spent 8 years in the Air Force and then worked for Phillips Petroleum Co. for 20 years. Mr. Ball had been a member of the Oklahoma State (High School & College) Football Referees Association for 20 years. He was the past-president of the Bartlesville Community Center Trust Authority as well the Chairman of the Healthcare Task Force for the Oklahoma State Chamber of Commerce. However, being a broadcaster for the local Bartlesville Bruins Football team was his favorite activity. An avid golfer, Mr. Ball had also been active in community theatre for many years. He was presently employed with Dal-Tile in Dallas, Texas. His proudest accomplishments are his sons and his family. Survivors include his loving wife of 31 years Rebecca Poston Ball of Duncanville, their two sons Ryan Lee Ball & his wife Michelle of California and Robert Brandon (Robby) Ball of Joplin, MO, his mother Marcie Ball of Oklahoma City. Memorial Services are 11:00 AM, Monday, Aug. 5, 2002 at Dallas Fort Worth National Cemetery, 2000 Mountain Creek Parkway, Dallas, TX. A reception will follow at the family's home. On Thursday, Aug. 8, from 4-7 PM, at the Bartlesville Community Center, a Celebration of Life for Robert's family & friends will be held. In lieu of flowers, please make memorial contributions to the Bartlesville, OK Arts Council or the Robert Ball Broadcasting Scholarship, c/o Stacey Copeland, Arvest Bank of Bartlesville, OK.
