Buell and widow of the late Albert Eldred Buell, died at 6:45 a.m. on Friday at her family residence in Bartlesville. Funeral services for Mrs. Buell will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday in the St. Luke's Episcopal Church. The Rev. Dr. T. Lee Stephens will be the officiant. Committal prayers and interment will be directed in the Memorial Park Cemetery by The Arnold Moore Funeral Service. A memorial in remembrance of Mrs. Buell has been established with the St. Luke's Episcopal Church. Friends who care to remember her in this way, may forward their gifts to St. Luke's Episcopal Church, in care of Mrs. Ann Bell, 210 SE Ninth Street, Bartlesville, Okla. 74003. Mrs. Buell will lie in state in the Drawing Rooms of The Arnold Moore Funeral Residence where friends may call for their visitation until she is removed to the church for services and final rites on Tuesday afternoon. A native of Denver, Colorado, Bernice Baner was born on June 19, 1906. She was the daughter of the late Jesse and Jane Edna (Bareford) Baner. She was reared and received her education in Denver, Colorado and attended Colorado College as a special student in music. She and Albert Eldred Buell were married on May 24, 1926. In 1928, Mr. and Mrs. Buell came to Bartlesville when Mr. Buell began his longtime career with the Phillips Petroleum Company. Mrs. Buell taught piano in Bartlesville. During World War II, Mrs. Buell was a nurses aide at the Washington County Memorial Hospital. She continued her activities being associated with the Jane Phillips Auxiliary. An ardent photographer, Mrs. Buell was active in taking promotional community photographs and educational as well as training photographs. She was recognized in 1981 by the Allied Arts and Humanities Council for her 5000 plus hours of service work in photography such as for the hospital, the Red Cross and Blood Drive. She participated with the Photographic Society of America and was awarded the APSA award in 1977. She continued her interest in photography and judged portfolios for the Photographic Society of America. More recently, she participated in computer aided digital photography. Mr. Buell preceded her in death on November 4, 1983 and since that time, Mrs. Buell has continued living in Bartlesville. She was a member of the St. Luke's Episcopal Church and the Photographic Society of America. She is survived by her son, Barry Owen Buell and his wife Joy of Bartlesville and one sister, Mrs. Martha Bray, Portland, Oregon.
