All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ========================================================================== Jerious (Jay) Martin Black Jerious (Jay) Martin Black, 69, of Route 1, Ramona, died at 7;24 a.m. Sunday, May 5, 1985 at the St. John's Medical Center, Tulsa, Oklahoma. Black was born on March 14, 1916, at Standish, Michigan to William M. Black and Alice Melinda Fellers Black. He came with his family by covered wagon to Oklahoma, settling at Jay, later moving to Hominy. In 1926 the family moved to the Ramona area where Black attended schools. He married Naomi Lois Lawson on March 1, 1941, at Bartlesville, Oklahoma. They have made their home in the Ramona area since that time. Black was associated with farming all of his life and had been employed with Overlees-Woods Lumber Company until his retirement six years ago. He was a member of the Ramona Friends Church. Black is survived by his wife, Naomi L. Black of the home; one daughter, Mrs. Clifford G. (Lois M.) Plett, Collinsville; one son, Clyde H. Black and wife, Connie, of Bartlesville; two brothers, George Black, Lockport, Illinois, and Lavern Black, Hobbs, New Mexico, two sisters, Ada M. Krulac, Peoria, Illinois and Edna Price, Napa, California, five grandchildren, three great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, George, and Edward and three sisters, Catherine, Zelma and Thelma. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday in the Ramona Friends Church with Rev. Lowell Thornburg officiating.
