All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ========================================================================== Naomi Lois (Lawson) Black Naomi Lois (Lawson) Black, 70, a longtime Ramona resident, died Monday, March 25, 1991, at 3:25 p.m. in the Heritage Villa Nursing Home where she had lived for three years. Mrs. Black was born June 14, 1920, at Washburn, Missouri to Asa Hubern Lawson and Rena B. Laughlin Lawson. She came to the Ramona area with her parents. She grew up and received her education in the Ramona School. She attended Northeastern State University at Miami. At an early age, she made a profession of faith and was faithful in service at the Ramona Friends Church as song leader, Sunday School teacher, Bible School teacher and other areas where needed. She married Jerious (Jay) M. Black on March 1, 1941, at Bartlesville. The couple opened their home for 19 foster children. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1985 and her parents. Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Clyde Hubern and Connie J. Black of Bartlesville, a daughter and son-in-law, Lois Marie and Clifford G. Plett of Collinsville, a sister, Agnes M. Lawson of Tulsa; three brothers and sisters-in-law; Johnie and Martha Lawson of Bartlesville, Rev. Charles W. and Glenna Lawson of Richardson, Texas, Donald R. and Amy Lawson, Ramona, six grandchildren: Anita Kaye Bonham and husband David of Copperas Cove, Texas, Michael Allen Plett and wife Annette of Pineville, Louisiana, David Gene Plett of wife Rhonda of Ramona, Nathaniel Lance Black of the U.S. Marine Corps, Brandon Matthew Black and Amanda Jeannine Black of Bartlesville, five great grandchildren: Kerisa Marie Baker, Erich Steven Baker, Adam Raylee Bonham, Zackery Allen Plett and Sheilah Rae Marie Plett; several nieces, nephews, aunts, cousins and a host of friends. Memorials have been established to the Ramona Friends Church, Ramona, Oklahoma or to the Caney Valley medical Foundation Inc. P. O. Box 175, Ramona, Oklahoma 74061. Funeral services were Wednesday at 2:00 p.m. in the Ramona Friends Church with the Rev. Charles Lawson of Richardson, Texas, and the Rev. Lyle Whiteman of the Ramona Friends Church officiating. Interment was in the Ramona Cemetery under the direction of Stumpff Funeral Home. Casket escorts for Mrs. Black were Bill Fugate, Ken Miller, Jay McKissick, Michael Plett, David Plett and Lance Black. Honorary casket escorts were Fred Tucker, Joe Odell, Tom Crabtree, Vivian Coast, William Gallamore, and S. E. Redman.
