Marie Brookshire Mrs. M. Marie (O'Neal) Brookshire, 87, widow of the late Virgil Lee Brookshire, Sr. and a retiree of the Hains Greenhouse, died at 10:25 p.m. on Monday in Bartlesville. Funeral services for Mrs. Brookshire will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday in the First Assembly of God Church. Pastor Billy Brummett will be the officiant. Committal prayers and interment will be directed in the Memorial Park Cemetery by The Arnold Moore Funeral Service. Mrs. Brookshire will lie in state in the Drawing Rooms of The Arnold Moore Funeral Residence where friends may call for their visitation until she is removed to the church for final rites on Saturday afternoon. An Oklahoma native, M. Marie O'Neal was born on December 22, 1915 in Washington County at Copan. She was the daughter of the late William Edgar and Lieu Anna (Taylor) O'Neal. Marie was reared and completed her education in the Hulah and Antioch community schools. She and Virgil Lee Brookshire were united in marriage at Sedan, Kansas on July 7, 1934. Mr. Brookshire was an employee of the Indian Territory Illumination Oil Company at the time of their marriage and was retired from the National Zinc Co. Mr. Brookshire preceded her in death on February 22, 1990 in Bartlesville. Mrs. Brookshire had been an employee of the Hains Greenhouse as a floral designer. She was retired in 1977 and has continued her residence in Bartlesville living in retirement. Marie was a member of the First Assembly of God Church. Marie is survived by her son, Louis "Eddie" and his wife, Sherry, Brookshire, Bartlesville; a daughter, Mrs. John (Charlene) Gabel, Bartlesville; 23 grandchildren; 33 great grand children; and 11 great great grandchildren.
