Cubbage Mrs. Mildred L. Cubbage, age 97, widow of Thomas L. Cubbage, Sr. and longtime resident of Bartlesville died Friday morning, April 4, 2003, at Jane Phillips Medical Center. A Rosary Prayer service for Mrs. Cubbage will be recited at 7:00 p.m. Monday at St. John's Catholic Church. The Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated on Tuesday at 2:00 p.m. at St. John's Catholic Church with Rev. Stephen Austin and Rev. Bill Skeehan officiating. Burial will be on the family plot in Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of the Neekamp Funeral Home. Memorials have been established in Mrs. Cubbage's name at both St. John's Catholic Church and St. James Catholic Church, or to a charity of your choice, for those wishing to remember her. Mrs. Cubbage was born on August 21, 1905 in LaHarpe, Kansas, the daughter of John Golden and Margaret Ellen (Duggan) Hart. Following her formal education she attended Edmond Teachers College, for a short period, and went on to business school. She worked as an executive secretary at Phillips Petroleum Company. She and Thomas L. Cubbage, Sr. were united in marriage on January 2, 1937. Mr. Cubbage retired after 44 years with Phillips Petroleum Company as Vice-President of Chemicals and as a member of the Board of Directors. Mr. Cubbage preceded her in death on January 2, 1988. Mrs. Cubbage was a member of St. John's Catholic Church. She was a Lady in the Equestrian Order of the Holy Sepulchre of Jerusalem (a Papal Order), a member of Bartlesville Service League, a charter member and past-president of the Jane Phillips Hospital Auxiliary, and a member of the Jane Phillips Sorority. She loved to travel the world, do needle point, cook, play golf, and she enjoyed reading. She is survived by a son, Thomas L. Cubbage, II and his wife Linda of Bartlesville; a daughter, Nancy Roush and husband Gale of Greenville, SC; five grandchildren, Cathy Casey and husband Ken of Edwardsville, IL, Elizabeth Oakley of Charleston, SC, Mary Waller and husband Barrett of Tulsa, Thomas L. Cubbage, III and wife Nicole of Oklahoma City, and Susan Hedrick and husband Michael of Easley, SC; nine great-grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Marian Cubbage of Cushing; and nephews, Dan and Don Calnan, Dennis Cubbage, Stephen Cubbage, William "Bill" Cubbage, and Kenneth Cubbage.
