Coy Services will be 10 a.m. Friday at Coos Bay Chapel with the Rev. Frank Potmesil of Bay Area Christian Fellowship will officiate. Interment will be at Fawn Creek Cemetery in Tyro, Kan. The daughter of Raymond Delose & Dicksy Olive (Dryden) Weed, Marla died March 17, 2003 at the age of 62. Marla was raised in Klamath Falls, Ore. She graduated from Klamath Union High School in 1958. She then graduated from the Emanuel Hospital School of Nursing in 1961. Marla worked as an R.N. for 39 years, retiring in 2000. She was employed at the Bay Area Hospital for 22 years. Marla enjoyed knitting, crocheting, needlepoint and other arts and crafts. She was tremendously interested in family history and volunteered at the LDS Family History Library for many years. In her younger years she was active in Girl Scouts where she earned her curved Bar Award. Survivors include her husband, Merrill William Coy, of Coos Bay, Ore.; a son, Merrill William Coy, of Coos Bay, Ore.; two brothers and sisters-in- law, Richard O. and E.J. Weed of Medford, Ore., and Robert L. and Karen Coy of McPherson, Kan.; three sisters and brothers-in-law, LaRayne and Jim Watts of Raymond, Wash., Elma Irene and Paul Tarrent of Minneapolis, Minn., and Joyce M. and Gerald Webster of Hutchinson, Kan.; a brother-in- law, Keith E. Coy, of Hutchinson, Kan.; a uncle, Jay Bell, of Havana, Kan.; three cousins, James R. Bell of Lees Summit, Mo., Marilyn Sachen of Bartlesville and Lois Vorderbruggee of Wichita, Kan.; and several nieces, nephews and many friends.
