Cruzan Mrs. Leonore Scott Cruzan, age 89, widow of Charles G. Cruzan and longtime resident of Bartlesville died Sunday, April 13, 2003, at Jane Phillips Geriatric Center. She was born January 7, 1914 in Pottsboro, Texas, the daughter of Oliver Goldsmith Scott and Ruby Cecil (Higden) Scott. She was married to Charles Grant Cruzan in 1937 and they moved to Bartlesville in 1947 from New York City. She earned her Masters Degree in Education from Oklahoma State University and was a retired School teacher where she taught in the Ochelata, Claremore and White Oak School Systems. She was a member of the Eastern Star, American Legion Auxiliary, Lion Tamers, The American Association of University Women and Oklahoma Retired Teachers Assn. She was an active member of the First Baptist Church where she taught Sunday school and sang in the Choir. She enjoyed sewing, playing bridge, and spending time with her children and grandchildren. She is survived by a son, Donald Charles Cruzan of Bartlesville; two daughters, Marletta Walker of Bartlesville and Jo Ann Cruzan Smith and husband Jimmy of Broken Arrow, OK; 7 grandchildren: Stacey, Lora and Hilary Cruzan, Reylene Hynes, Patricia Ainesworth, Emily Summers, and Scott Smith. She was preceded in death by her husband Charles in 1991, a son, Carlyn Cruzan, and 1 brother. Funeral services for Mrs. Cruzan will be Wednesday, April 16, 2002, at 10:00 a.m. in Worship Center of the First Baptist Church with Dr. Joe Dan Fowler officiating. Interment will be held on the family plot of Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of the Neekamp Funeral Home. The family will receive friends at Neekamp Funeral Home, Tuesday, from 5:00 till 7:00 PM.
