"Bill" Dilley, 69, of Rt. 1, Sedan, died Tuesday (April 15, 2003) at his home. He was born January 5, 1934 in Sedan to William Elbert and Inez Opal (Vanderhoof) Dilley. He grew up in Chautauqua County attending elementary school in Sedan, Longton and Elgin, and graduating from Sedan High School in 1952. In November 1952 he joined the U.S. Navy serving until his discharge in October 1956. On February 22, 1955 he married A'Meta Rutledge in Sedan. Following their marriage and his discharge from the Navy they made their home in the Sedan area. Mr. Dilley was employed at Phillips Petroleum Company in Bartlesville for 31 years. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Sedan. Mr. Dilley was a pilot and enjoyed flying. Survivors include his wife, A'Meta of the home, two daughters Jacqueline Dilley of Lawrence, KS and Rhonda Lampson of Sedan; one son William F. Dilley of Bartlesville, OK; one brother, Don Dilley of Peru, and three grandchildren, Katie and Betsy Lampson of Sedan and Gary Dilley of Bartlesville, OK. Services will be 1:00 p.m. Friday (April 18, 2003) in the First United Methodist Church in Sedan with Reverend Jerry Bever officiating. Burial will be in Debusk Cemetery west of Elgin, KS. Friends may call on Thursday from 11:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. and on Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at the David W. Barnes Funeral Home in Sedan. The family suggests memorials to the First United Methodist Church in Sedan, contributions may be left with the funeral home. David W.
