Lorene Burt Donaldson

Lorene Burt Donaldson, of Midland, died Tuesday December 17, 2002.

She was born November 12, 1915 in Dewey, Oklahoma to Claude and Daisy 
Burt. After attending Dewey and Bartlesville, Oklahoma schools, Lorene 
attended the University of Oklahoma, where she received a BA and also 
attended Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois and the Art 
Institute of Chicago. She was employed by Phillips Petroleum Company as a 
patent librarian and also the Young Women's Christian Association in 
Bartlesville, Oklahoma. On February 14, 1942 she married John Jay 
Donaldson in Bartlesville, Oklahoma while he was in the Armed Forces. Her 
memberships included, St. Luke's Episcopal Church, Bartlesville Art 
Association, Daughters of the American Revolution and the Bartlesville 
Historical Society.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John Jay Donaldson in 1989.

Lorene is survived by her daughters, Dee Donaldson Emrich and husband 
Philip Lyman Emrich of Arlington, TX; Dale Donaldson Stasney and The 
Reverend Jon Stasney of Midland, TX; four grandchildren, Sarah Stasney, 
Justin Stasney and Susan Stasney all of Midland, TX; Elizabeth Emrich of 
Arlington, TX.

Funeral services in Midland, Texas were held Friday December 20, 2002 at 
St. Nicholas' Episcopal Church with The Reverend Jon Stasney and The 
Reverend Mark Eldredge officiating. Graveside services will be held at 
Memorial Park Cemetery in Bartlesville, Oklahoma at 11:00 A.M. Thursday, 
January 2, 2003. Arrangements are under the direction of Ellis Funeral 
Home, 801 Andrews Hwy. Midland, Texas.

Pallbearers will be John Cooper, Steve Shaw, Jack Runyan and Les 
McLaughlin. Honorary pallbearers will be Norm Ramon and Bob Reimers. 
Serving as ushers will be Jimmy Mowles, George Lohmann, Randy Shannon and 
Mitch Ritter.

Memorials may be directed to St. Luke's Episcopal Church of Bartlesville, 
Oklahoma or St. Nicholas' Episcopal Church of Midland, Texas.

Lorene was a loving wife, mother and grandmother who was devoted to her 
friends, neighbors and church. By her example of selfless service she 
engendered a like love in others.
