All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ===================================================================== ::Sunset View FH--Berkley CA Fischer, Gladys Ryan (Stringer) Gladys (Stringer) Ryan Fischer May 19, 1920 - Sept. 4, 2006 Former resident of El Cerrito Gladys Ryan Fischer passed away on Sept. 4, 2006 after a lengthy illness at the home of her step-daughter Lyn Wright in Sequim, WA. Born in Highland, Sharp Co. (inc. town of Stuart, AR) to Simon and Sarah Hallum Stringer, she graduated from high school in Wynona, OK, in 1938. She spent 57 years on Richmond Street in El Cerrito, CA, and the last two years in Sequim, WA. She married her high school sweetheart, Eddie Albert Ryan, who preceded her in death on Dec. 7, 1963 at the age of 44. She married William Elmer Fischer on Sept. 5, 1989. William (Bill) passed away in 1997. Gladys retired from PacBell in 1983 after 38 years. She is survived by her daughter, Marilyn Atkinson and her husband, Ken; stepdaughters, Shirley Correlli, Patricia Silveira and Lyn Wright; stepson, Billy Fischer; grandchildren, David and Fred Nesbit, Albert Kruger and Laurel Byer; 11 step-grandchildren, and 9 great- grandchildren; sister, Marie Kaehler and her husband, Eugene of Grand Junction, CO; brother, Charley Stringer and his wife, Sue of Bowling Green, KY; and many nieces and nephews who all adored her. She is preceded in death by her daughter, Patricia Linda Krueger in 1993; and sister, Edna Mills in 2003. Family and friends are invited to attend visitation on Monday, Sept. 11, 2006 from 9-10 a.m. at Sunset View Mortuary, junction of Fairmount and Colusa avenues in El Cerrito. Interment will be private.
