Gay Gail Clark Gay, 67, died on Wednesday morning at his home. Services are pending with Arnold Moore Funeral Service. ========= from 1-10-2003 Examiner Enterprise Gail C. Gay Mr. Gail Clark Gay, 67, retired Mathematics Teacher for the Bartlesville, College High School, died on Wednesday morning at his home. Funeral services for Mr. Gay will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday in the Sanctuary of the Tuxedo Assembly of God Church. The Rev. L. A. Haymaker will be the officiant. Committal prayers and interment will be directed in the Wetumka Cemetery, Wetumka, Okla. at 3:00 p.m. on Monday by The Arnold Moore Funeral Service. Mr. Gay will lie in state in the Drawing Rooms of The Arnold Moore Funeral Residence where friends may call for their visitation until he is removed to the church for services and final rites on Monday morning. A native of Oklahoma, Gail Clark Gay was born on December 6, 1935 at Wetumka. He was the son of the late Lewis Robert and Sylvia Myrtle (Clark) Gay. He was reared and received his education in the Wetumka, Okla. community and was graduated with the Senior Class of 1954 from the Wetumka High School. He continued his education and was a student at East Central University, Ada, Okla. where he received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Math Education in 1959. He moved to Oklahoma City, Okla. where he taught mathematics at Harding High School for ten years. He moved to Bartlesville and taught one semester at Sooner High School prior to returning to Oklahoma City and teaching for two years at Harding Junior High School. In 1972, Mr. Gay returned to Bartlesville and was employed by the Wal-Mart Corp. for three and a half years where he served as checkout supervisor and as a customer service representative. Mr. Gay returned to his teaching career and taught Mathematics at the College High School for eighteen and a half years, retiring in 1993. Since that time, Mr. Gay has continued living in Bartlesville in retirement. Mr. Gay was a member of the Tuxedo Assembly of God Church and the Oklahoma Retired Teachers Association. Surviving are his one son, Leon Clark Gay and his wife Elaine, Sapulpa, Okla.; one granddaughter, Miss Ashley Miranda Gay, Sapulpa, Okla.; and one brother, Paul W. Gay and his wife Evelyn, Miami, Okla.
