Humphreys Nora Catherine (Norine) Humphreys, passed away at her home in Bartlesville with her family by her side on January 16, 2003. A strong and brave woman, she faced her battle with cancer the way she lived, with dignity and without fear. Born in Chicago, IL on October 18, 1927, she raised her 3 children with her beloved husband, John, in Southern California. In 1979 Norine and John continued their great adventure by moving to small town Arkansas to buy a farm. They retired to Bartlesville in 1994. Norine lived for her family, was a renowned cook, a warm entertainer and enjoyed reading, sewing, good humor, slot machines and making people feel special with her thoughtful ways. Norine delighted in her Irish roots, locating and corresponding with lost family, culminating in a family trip to Lyre, Banteer, Co. Cork in September of 2002. She is survived by her husband of 52 years, John of the home and 3 children, Eileen Humphreys of Port Lavaca, TX, Daniel Humphreys and his wife, Carolyn, of Vallejo, CA and David Humphreys and his wife, Tanya of Tulsa. She is also survived by brothers, Fran Reilly of San Jose, CA, Jim Reilly of El Cajon, CA and sister, Margaret Kary of Hudson Bay, FL. She was very proud of her 6 grandchildren, Robert Newman, David and Erik Humphreys and Evan, Ellen and Henry Humphreys. The family wishes to send a special thank you to Dr. Maurice Krause of Bartlesville for all his help and support. Your life was an inspiration and we will forever feel your love.
