Jay Mr. Paul Elmer Jay, 86, retiree of the National Zinc Company and longtime Bartlesville resident, died at 12:00 noon on Wednesday in Dewey. Funeral services for Mr. Jay will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday in the sanctuary of the Virginia Avenue Baptist Church. Rev. Ralph O. Dershem will be the officiant. Committal prayers and interment will be directed in the Memorial Park Cemetery by The Arnold Moore Funeral Service. A native of Oklahoma, Paul Elmer Jay was born September 16, 1916 at Lane. He was the son of the late Robert and Hazel Jay. He moved with his family members to the Cherryvale, Kansas area at an early age and completed his education at Independence, Kansas. He and Miss Helen Marie Resnick were united in marriage in 1937 in Bartlesville. They established their home here and Paul began a 45 year career with the National Zinc Company and was retired in 1979. Helen Marie Jay preceded him in death on September 21, 1947. He and Mrs. Jessie Pearl (Chastain) Robinson were united in marriage on December 23, 1947 in Bartlesville and they continued their home here. Mrs. Jay preceded him in death on March 10, 1999 in Bartlesville and Mr. Jay had continued his retirement residence in Bartlesville. Paul was a member of the Virginia Avenue Baptist Church. Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Anita Penney, Huntsville, Alabama; two step sons, Robert "Bob" Robinson, Bartlesville; and Wallace May, Ochelata, Okla.; a step daughter, Mrs. John (Eunita Faye) Maples; seven grandchildren, Angela M. Dilworth, Randy Sanders, Anna Steinberg, John Males, Jr., Tjuana Brooks, John May, Kenneth Robinson, and Kimberly Robinson; and eight great grandchildren.
