Lawson, Asa H. Lawson

Asa Hubern Lawson, 66, a resident of the Ramona community since 1927, died 
at 7:15 p.m. Tuesday, May 29, 1962, at his farm home following an illness 

of several months.
Funeral services for Mr. Lawson will be at 10:00 a.m. (CST) Friday at the 
Ramona Friends Church with Rev. P. Arlis Henegar, Pastor of the Nowata 
Assembly of God, and Misses Isibel King and ruby Steele, Pastors of the 
Church of God of Apostolic Faith of Ramona, officiating. Interment will be 
in the Ramona Cemetery under the direction of the Arnold Moore Funeral 
Service.

Mr. Lawson was born April 10, 1896, near Pineville, Missouri.  He spent 
his early life there and attended the Mount Pleasant rural school near 
Pineville.  In 1917 he married Rena Laughlin at Cassville, Missouri. They 
farmed in the area until 1927 when they moved to a farm near Ramona.  He 
was well known in that area as a farmer-stockman and also was employed by 
the Fulton Pipeline Company between 1951, and 1953.

Survivors include the widow, Rena,  of the home; two daughters, Miss Agnes 
M. Lawson, Tulsa, and Mrs. J. M. (Naomi) Black of Ramona; three sons, 
Johnie H. Lawson, Conway Springs, Kansas, Rev. Charles Lawson, Cherokee, 
Oklahoma and Donald Ray Lawson, Colorado Springs, Colorado; three 
brothers, Earl M. Lawson and Wyatt E. Lawson of Washburn, Missouri and 
Cecil E. Lawson of Pea Ridge, Arkansas; one sister, Mrs. Janie Exum of 
Anderson, Missouri, nine grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
