(Laughlin) Lawson, 77, widow of the late Asa Hubern Lawson, and an area resident since 1927 died at 2:12 a.m. Tuesday June 7, 1977, in the Oklahoma Osteopathic Hospital, Tulsa. Funeral services fro Mrs. Lawson will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday in the Ramona Happy hill Church (Church of God of Apostolic Faith). The Rev. Charles Richey and the Rev. Ronald Reed will be the officiants and interment will be directed beside the grave of her late husband, Asa Hubern Lawson in the Ramona Cemetery directed by the Arnold Moore funeral Service. Mrs. Lawson was born in rural Washburn, in McDonald County, Missouri. She and the late Asa Hubern Lawson were married in Cassville, Missouri, on May 16, 1917 and they established their first home near Washburn, Missouri. Mr. and Mrs. Lawson farmed in Missouri until they came to Washington County in 1927. The Lawson's continued their farming and rural interests until Mr. Lawson's death May 16, 1962, at their farm rural home. Mrs. Lawson continued maintaining their farm interests until her recent illness and her entering the Oklahoma Osteopathic Hospital, Tulsa, where she remained until her death. She was a member of the Church of God Apostolic Faith. Mrs. Lawson is survived by three sons, Johnie Hubern Lawson, 1885 S.Armstrong, Bartlesville, Rev. Charles Wyatt Lawson, minister of the First Assembly of God Church, Enid, Oklahoma and Donald Ray Lawson, Woodland Park, Colorado, two daughters, Miss Agnes Marie Lawson, Tulsa, and Mrs. J.M. (Naomi Lois) Black, Ramona, 12 grandchildren and four great grandchildren; five sisters, Mrs. Ruth Ellis, Pineville, Missouri, Mrs. Rachel Bunch, Webb City, Missouri, Mrs. Hattie Schell, Delhi, California, Mrs. Luther (Georgia) Camp and Mrs. Willa Bowman, both of Neosho, Missouri, and one brother Wyatt Laughlin of Riverton, Kansas, A sister and brother preceded her in death. -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Return to Washington County Archives: http://www.usgwarchives.net/ok/washington/washington.html
