Logan Hazel Wood Logan died Thursday, October 12, 2006 in her home in Bartlesville, Oklahoma. The second of eleven children, Hazel was born in Dearing, Kansas on August 20, 1917 to Frank and Pauline Wood. She attended schools in Dearing and Coffeyville, Kansas and received her associate of Arts Degree from Coffeyville Junior College. Hazel also attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill where she took art classes. Hazel married Walter James Logan on June 6, 1941, and lived in Kansas and Oklahoma before moving to North Carolina in 1956 with their four children. Jim and Hazel relocated to Bartlesville in 1990. Hazel enjoyed painting, graphic and ceramic arts, gardening, and bird watching. She bowled in senior leagues in both Coffeyville and Bartlesville. An avid walker, she was active in TOPS and a dear friend and neighbor to many in the Colonial Estates and Green Country Village communities. Her sense of humor and warmth will be greatly missed by her family and friends.Hazel is survived by sons Ronald James of Phoenix, Arizona and Stephen Earl; daughters Judith Irene of Berkeley, California and Vicki Logan Winston of Richmond, California; sisters Ramona Bishop of Coffeyville and Darlene Long of Garland, Texas; brother Ray Wood of Dearing; five grandchildren; and 4 great grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions in her name to cornerstone Hospice, 3414 SE Kentucky, Bartlesville, OK 74006 or a charity of your choice. Private family services will be held at a later date.
