Laizure Jr. Mr. Cecil Leon Laizure, Jr., age 75, a native of Bartlesville and retired Oil Transfer Dispatcher for Phillips Petroleum Company, died Sunday evening, March 9, 2003, at the Jane Phillips Medical Center. Rosary prayers will be said Wednesday evening at 7:00 p.m. in the sanctuary of St. John's Catholic Church. A funeral mass will be celebrated Thursday at 10:00 a.m. in the sanctuary of St. John's Catholic Church with Father Stephen Austin as the officiant. Burial will be on the family plot in White Rose Cemetery under the direction of the Neekamp Funeral Home. A memorial has been established in his name with Jane Phillips Hospice. Those wishing to remember him may do so in care of Jane Phillips Hospice, 219 North Virginia, Bartlesville, OK 74003. Mr. Laizure was born June 4, 1927 in Bartlesville, the son of Cecil Leon and Sarah Marie (Smith) Laizure, Sr. He was raised in Bartlesville and Oklahoma City and graduated from St. Gregory High School in Shawnee. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II and following his discharge from the service he start his career with Phillips Petroleum Company in the Supply and Distribution Department. He retired in 1986 after 40 years of service. He and Mary Louise Morin were united in marriage on June 27, 1945 in Waco, TX. They made their home in Oklahoma City and Borger, TX, before settling in Bartlesville. Mrs. Laizure preceded him in death on July 24, 2000. He was a member of St. John's Catholic Church. He probably caught more fish out the Verdigris River than any other fisherman. He is survived by four sons, John A. Laizure and wife Debi of Broken Arrow, Joseph P. Laizure and wife Marjie of Mankato, MN, Jerry A. Laizure and wife Peggy of Norman, OK, and Anthony M. Laizure and wife Brenda of Tulsa; a daughter, Linda D. Laizure of Tulsa; fourteen grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. His wife of 55 years, parents, three sons, Cecil L. Laizure, III, Robert C. Laizure, and Michael A.
