All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ========================================================================== Surnames: LAND, MILLER, WRESTLER, SMOAK, WILLETT, EDWARDS, BROKAB from 3-16-2003 Examiner Enterprise Joe Land Mr. Joe Land age 80, longtime resident and owner of Land Carpet Cleaning died Friday evening at Jane Phillips Hospital. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Monday in the Walker-Brown Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jim Miller pastor of the First Presbyterian Church in Tulsa officiating. Burial will be in the Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of the Walker-Brown Funeral Home. Graveside military rites will be conducted by the United States Marine Corps. and the James H. Teel Post 105 of the American Legion. The family ask that memorials be made to a charity of choice. Mr. Land was born on January 29, 1923 in BartlesviIle to Joseph Gilliam and Opal (Wrestler) Land. He attended school in Bartlesville. After graduation he enlisted in the United States Marines and served during WW II and the Korean War. After returning home he was associated with several businesses including an agent for Homestate Life Insurance Company and a real estate agent for Terrel Taylor Realtor. He then later started his own company Land Carpet Cleaning Company until his retirement. Survivors include his wife of 48 years Betty of the home, a daughter Mary Land Smoak of Mustang, Oklahoma, son; Joseph Charles Land and his wife Judith of Tulsa, grandchildren; Jillie Land, Rian and Shelly Smoak, Lisa and Lee Willett, great grandchildren; Logan and Olivia, Blayne & Braydon, a cousin; Fondanell Edwards and best friend; Alvin Brokab. -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Return to Washington County Archives: http://www.usgwarchives.net/ok/washington/washington.html
