In Bartlesville, Henry attended Ranch Heights Elementary School before moving to Napa in 1997. In Napa, he attended El Centro Elementary School through sixth grade, St. John the Baptist Catholic Middle School and Justin-Siena High School, where he was to be a graduating senior this month. Henry did well in school and was always on the High Honor Roll. Henry left us unexpectedly on May 8, 2007, due to injuries sustained in a fall. Henry is survived by his parents, Larry and Doris; his sister, Kate, from Camarillo; and his grandmother in Melbourne, Fla. Karate was an important part of Henry’s life. He began at the age of 5, and by 6 years old had won a first place trophy for sparring that was taller than he was. He continued his training in Karate after he came to Napa in both the Japanese and Korean styles, and helped with teaching Karate to younger students at Sidekicks on Tanen Street. At 17, he reached the first level of his Black Belt at Sidekicks, an accomplishment of which he was very proud. From an early age, animals were always a source of enjoyment. Henry had two dogs, Charlie and Maggie, and for a long time wanted to become a veterinarian, until computers became a larger part of his life. Even at the age of 4, Henry showed promise as a computer engineer, with his preschool teacher depending on him to help her find and run programs. At home, all the game programs were lost when he named them all “Henry.” As he moved through school, computers were always a central focus of his interest and time, and he was currently enrolled to enter the University of California at San Diego in September 2007 to study computer engineering. Henry had an amazingly inventive mind, a gift which showed in his writing and his story telling. His point of view was unique and always thoughtful. The depth of his understanding of people was years beyond his age, and he always tried to treat people with sensitivity and compassion. When he was younger, he told his mother that he never wanted to leave home and always wanted to be with us. He never did leave home, and he will always be with us in our hearts and mind. We miss you, Henry, and we continue to feel your presence. In lieu of flowers, the family hopes that you will consider a donation to either the Napa Valley Food Bank, 1755 Industrial Way, Suite 1, Napa, CA 94559; or the Law Enforcement Chaplaincy Inc., 2558 Darroch Court, P.O.
