Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Monday in Dumas Cemetery. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2820 Virginia Circle. Mrs. McCarty was born in Jack County and had lived in Amarillo since 1979. She was a longtime Moore County resident at the Thompson Ranch, living there from 1945 to 1975. She was preceded in death by her husband, Elmer Harvey McCarty, on Oct. 28, 1993. Survivors include a son, Glenn McCarty of Masterson; two daughters, Dean Brown of Rangely, Colo., and Kay Holland of Bartlesville, Okla.; a sister, Opal Jeffries of Tuttle, Okla.; seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren. The family suggests, in lieu of flowers, memorials be to Heavenly Angels, 3114 Mockingbird Lane, Amarillo, TX 79109. Amarillo Globe-News, April 14, 2002
