McCartlin James Bryant McCartlin, 80, of Dewey, died at 6:55 p.m. Tuesday in the Jane Phillips Medical Center. McCartlin James Bryant McCartlin, 80, of Dewey, died at 6:55 p.m. Tuesday at the Jane Phillips Medical Center. Services will be 2 p.m. Saturday at the Dewey Cemetery with Pastor Paul Rummage of the Bartlesville Southern Baptist Church officiating. Services and interment will be under the direction of Stumpff Funeral Home. Survivors include two daughters, Connie Lerner of Westminster, Calif., and Helen Wilson of Bartlesville; six grandchildren; and 9 great grandchildren. ========= from 1-10-2003 Examiner Enterprise James B. McCartlin Mr. James Bryant McCartlin, 80, of Dewey, died at 6:55 p.m. Tuesday at the Jane Phillips Medical Center. Funeral services for Mr. McCartlin will be held at 2:00 P.M. Saturday at the Dewey Cemetery with Pastor Paul Rummage of the Bartlesville Southern Baptist Church officiating. Funeral services and interment will be under the direction of the Stumpff Funeral Home. Mr. McCartlin was born on February 12, 1922 at Dewey to Fannie (Bullette) and James B. McCartlin Sr. He grew up and received his education in the Dewey area and served in the U.S. Army during World War II as an airplane power plant mechanic. Following his Honorable Discharge he continued as an aircraft mechanic for Douglas Aircraft. He was married to Louise French on February 12, 1969 in California . They moved to Dewey in 1982 and they owned and operated the Lenape Smoke Shop. Mr. McCartlin is survived by two daughters, Connie Lerner of Westminster, California, and Helen Wilson of Bartlesville, six grandchildren, Wendy Troxell, Johnnie Murray, David Brandt, Melodie Oberdorfer, Richard Brandt, and Kimberley Wilson, and 9 great grandchildren.
