L.E.Millison Dies; Rites Set Friday Lawrence Edward Millison, 61, of Route 2, Box 303, Nowata died early Monday morning in the Nowata General Hospital following a long illness. He was born May 2, 1912 in Sedan KS to William and Edward Martha Alice Millison. He grew up and attended schools in Sedan, was active as a rancher there and married Violet Norton in 1940 in Sedan. Mr. Millison served with the U.S. Army in Europe during WWII and was discharged in 1945. He then went back to Sedan and was active as a farmer there until 1970 when they moved to Bartlesville. Mr. Millison was employed by E.C.Hagar on the Glenoak Ranch until he retired in Feb 1971 due to ill health. Then they moved to Nowata in 1972. Mr. MIllison was a member of the Pentecostal Free Holiness Church. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday int he Stumpff Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jimmy Shamlin and Rev. Billy Benefield, ministers officiating. Interment will be in the White Rose Cemetery with complete military rites accorded him by the Nowata V.F.W. He is survived by his wife, Violet of the home; one brother, Chlarence Millison of Chautaugua KS, two sisters; Mrs. Alice Butterfield fo Sedan KS and Mrs Grace Pendergraft of Dayton OR and a host of nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 7-9 p.m. Thursday evening.
