Meyer from 4-18-2003 Examiner Enterprise Mass for Leona Meyer of Tyler, Texas was celebrated at 1 p.m. Saturday April 12, 2003 at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception with Monsignor Joseph E. Strickland officiating. Burial followed at Rose Hill Mausoleum under the direction of Lloyd James Funeral Home, Tyler, Texas. Leona died April 9, 2003 in Tyler, Texas. She was born August 3, 1916 in Belleville, Wisconsin to George and Kathryn Genin. She lived in Wisconsin for 23 years, Bartlesville, Oklahoma for 56 years, and in Tyler for 5 years. She was a devout Catholic, a loving wife of nearly 63 years and a devoted mother of four children. She was a member of St. John's Altar Society, enjoyed ballroom dancing, golf, and bridge. Survivors include her devoted husband, Lawrence (Larry) Otto Meyer, Tyler, Texas, sons; James L. Meyer, Tyler, John A. Meyer, Duncanville, Texas, daughters; Katheryn A. Crocker, Trinity, Florida., Mary Jo Falvo, Dallas, Texas; brother, Ray Genin, Madison, Wisconsin.; sisters; Arlene Voelz, Tomahawk, Wisconsin., Betty Merkel, East Lansing, Michigan. Violet Genin, Madison, Wisconsin; nine Grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Pallbearers were Michael G. Crocker, James L. Falvo, Stephen M. Cocker, Scott A. Crocker, Lee A. Falvo, Jarrod L. Meyer, Justin Stamps and John P. Falvo. Honorary pallbearers were Suzanne L. Meyer, Jane Meyer, Jennifer L. Stamps, Kathryn E. Falvo and Holly B. Meyer. Rosary was recited at 7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
