MARSHALL OCNS - April 14, 2002 - Mr. Wilbur F. Marshall, 91, retired Business and Sales Manager for National Zinc Company, and former longtime resident of Bartlesville, Oklahoma, died Saturday, April 6, in Dallas, Texas. Memorial services were held Tuesday, April 9, in the Sneed Chapel of First United Methodist Church, Bartlesville, with Dr. Paul Bowles presiding. Family graveside rites preceded the memorial services. Mr. Marshall was born in Whiting, Kansas, March 9, 1911, the son of Frank and Ruth Blair Marshall. He attended schools in Dewey, Oklahoma, graduating from Dewey High School in 1928. In 1930 he began a career with National Zinc that spanned fifty years, retiring in 1976 as Business Manager and Sales Manager. Following his retirement, he continued his association with National Zinc on a consulting basis. January 21, 1939, in Dewey, Mr. Marshall and Mhyretta Angela Wright were united in marriage. She preceded him in death August 21, 1988 and March 14, 1989 he married Dorothy Jeanette Cook, who survives at the home. Mr. and Mrs. Marshall continued their home in Bartlesville until moving to Dallas, Texas in 2000 to be near family. Mr. Marshall was a member of the First United Methodist Church and was an active civic leader, dedicated to the city of Bartlesville. He became a Certified Public Accountant in 1951 and was a member of the Oklahoma Society of Certified Public Accountants; a member of the Bartlesville Masonic Lodge No. 284 A.F. and A.M., serving as Worshipful Master in 1955 and elected to the DeMolay Legion of Honor in 1971. He was a member of the Bartlesville Rotary Club, serving as president in 1960 and served on the Board of Directors; a member of the Washington County Memorial Hospital Board, having served as chairman; was in the Who's Who in Bartlesville, Oklahoma, a member of the Elks Club, Bartlesville Chamber of Commerce, served as President of Bartlesville Association of Certified Public Accountants, was a member of Bartlesville School board for seven years and served two terms as president, a member of the Hillcrest Country Club and served as Chairman of Bartlesville Financial Affairs Committee. He was an avid golfer and was most proud of having shot two holes in one at the Hillcrest course. In lieu of flowers, the family requested that donations be made in Mr. Marshall's name to the American Cancer Society in care of Kathy Loeper, P.O. Box 1094, Bartlesville, OK 74005. In addition to his wife, Dorothy of the home in Dallas, Mr. Marshall is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Patricia M. and David W. Craig of Plano, Texas; a son and daughter-in-law, Paul F. and Nancy Marshall of Borger, Texas; his grandchildren, Shelly and John Julian of Aurora, Illinois, Dr. Jennifer L. and Charles Bailey of Dallas, Robert F. and Lourdes Marshall of San Jose, California and Jeffrey P. and Lachelle Marshall of Joplin, Missouri; seven great grandchildren, Brittany and Bobby Marshall, Harrison and Cara Marshall, Sabra, Gino and Dominic Julian; and his brother and sister-in-law, E.H. and Martha Marshall of Independence, Kansas.
