Martin Mrs. Frieda Lucile (Wilson) (Walden) Martin, 86, mother of Mrs. Thoral L. (Walden) Haskell and Larry J. Walden, died at 7:10 a.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 25, 2003 in the Bartlesville Care Center. Funeral services for Mrs. Martin will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, March 3, 2003 in the Sanctuary of the Bartlesville Southern Baptist Church. Pastor Paul Rummage will be the officiant. Committal prayers and interment will be directed in the Memorial Park Cemetery by The Arnold Moore Funeral Service. Mrs. Martin will lie in state in the Drawing Rooms of The Arnold Moore Funeral Residence where friends may call for their visitation until she is removed to the church for services and final rites on Monday. A native of Indiana, Frieda Lucile Wilson was born on July 24, 1916 in the rural Tipton County community. She was the daughter of the late Clyde Ward and Freddie (Lurkins) Wilson. She began her education in Kokomo, Indiana and was graduated with the Senior Class of 1934. She and Donald Marion Walden were married on October 26, 1933 at Kokomo, Indiana. Mr. Walden was a professional musician and a steel worker. Mrs. Walden was a floor lady in a dress factory. Mr. Walden preceded her in death. Mrs. Walden and Harold Murray were married in Kokomo, Indiana on July 24, 1946 and they made their home in Kokomo. Mr. Murray was an employee of R. C. A. in Indianapolis. Mrs. Murray was employed at Delco Radio, wiring radios for six years. The Murrays moved to South Bend, Indiana and Mr. Murray preceded her in death. She and Paul McInturf were married in Lakeville, Indiana on December 24, 1952 and they moved to Oklahoma City, Okla. where they made their home for two years. They moved to Baxter Springs, Kansas and Mr. McInturf was a trucking contractor. Mr. and Mrs. McInturf moved to Vermilion, Ohio in 1959 for three years. He preceded her in death. Mrs. McInturf came to Bartlesville and was employed at Koppels and Vandevers as well as J. C. Penney in the alterations department as a seamstress. She was retired in 1981 and has since continued living in Bartlesville in retirement. She and Elmer Alexander "Arkie" Martin were married on June 23, 1980 in Bartlesville and he preceded her in death in Bartlesville on June 29, 1986. Mrs. Martin was a member of the Bartlesville Southern Baptist Church. Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Thoral Lanae (Walden) Haskell, Bartlesville and a son, Larry Joe Walden and wife Sharon, Broken Arrow, Okla.; seven grandchildren; eight great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; one daughter, Mrs. Myra Elaine (Engelbert) House in 1982; two sisters, Mrs. Lois Hollenback in 1992 and Mrs. Eleanor Woodard in Feb. of 2002; one grandson, Chris Allen Phillips in July of 1979 and one granddaughter, Mrs. Lanae Anne Parris on August 21, 2002. -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Return to Washington County Archives: http://www.usgwarchives.net/ok/washington/washington.html
