Yakima, Wash. Langevin-Mussetter Funeral Home Erline M. McDonald, 83, of Yakima, passed away Monday, May 7, 2007 at her home after an extended illness surrounded by her loving family. Erline was born April 26, 1924 in Bartlesville, Oklahoma to Carl and Mary (Goodin) Peterson. She married Patrick J. McDonald on July 28, 1946 in Pasco, WA. Erline was a homemaker extraordinaire. Her purpose in life was taking care of her beloved husband and children. She loved and enjoyed being with her family, especially her great- grandchildren. She was an avid card player, and enjoyed bowling and golfing. Pat and Erline traveled for twenty years around the United States during the winters. She was a member of St. Peter Claver Catholic Church, Mt. Adams Country Club and the Tri-City Country Club. Survivors include her husband of 60 years, Patrick McDonald of Yakima; four children and their spouses, Mary Jane and Robert Gasseling of Wapato; John McDonald of Kennewick, WA; Robert and Patricia McDonald of Puyallup and Ross McDonald of Lynnwood, WA; eight grandchildren, Patrick (Trishia) Gasseling, Tiffany McDonald, Andrew McDonald, Patricia, Cory, Alexander, Sean and Daniel McDonald; five great-grandchildren, Austin, Kaitlyn and Allison Gasseling, and Gabriella McDonald and Xahil McDonald; and a sister, Geraldine and husband Mark Arstein of Yakima. She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Emmet and James Mulkin, a granddaughter Amy Gasseling, a great-granddaughter, Sara Gasseling and a grandson, Scott McDonald. Viewing will be Wednesday, noon until 8:00 p.m. and Thursday, 12 noon until 3:30 p.m. at Langevin-Mussetter Funeral Home. Vigil services will be Thursday, May 10, 2007 at 6:00 p.m. at St. Peter Claver Catholic Church, Wapato, WA. Mass of Christian Burial is Friday, May 11, 2007 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Peter Claver Catholic Church. Burial will follow in the Reservation Community Cemetery, Wapato. She was proud to see her great-grandchildren receiving a religious education and wanted memorials made to the Sister Rebecca Berghoff Foundation, which benefits St. Joseph/Marquette Schools or to the favorite charity of the donor, c/o Langevin-Mussetter Funeral Home.
