All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ========================================================================== Los Angeles Times 8 February 2004 JOANNA JEAN NICHOL The colorful life of Joanna Jean (Pambogo DeCoy Watkins) Nichol, born Sept. 12, 1919 in Bartlesville, OK, ended peacefully Jan. 27, 2004, in her hometown. In Los Angeles from 1938 until after World War II, she held a variety of jobs, from clerk to nanny to professional singer at the Gay Way and Music Box. She and husband Warren ("Dugan") Nichol settled in San Mateo, CA, with daughter Carol Mae in 1950. She kept in close touch with her beloved sister, Muriel (Pam) Watkins of Wilmington (deceased). She is survived y daughter, Carol, and granddaughter, Miranda Carreon; half-brother Gary Pambogo and his children Renee, Leah, Brian, and Karla; cousin Dee and Annette Ketchum (whose patience was boundless); great-niece Robin Watkins; cousin Ace Berry; and also her stepbrother Don Carmean and his daughter Brenda; stepsister Delores ("Duke") (Carmean) Holder and her son, Cliff; and Ron and Jerry Carmean (sons of stepbrother Eugene, deceased). She never met a stranger. Cremation arrangements by the Stumpff Funeral Home, Bartlesville, OK. Memorial service 11 AM Feb. 17, 2004, New Hope Indian Methodist Church, Bartlesville, OK. Interment will be private.
