Nute from 4-20-2003 Examiner Enterprise Mr. Sanford Clarence Nute, 81, father of Ms. Pamela R. Beamguard and Mrs. Shirley Cavin, passed away on 8:10 p.m. on Wednesday in the Heritage Villa Nursing Center. Private family rites will be directed in the Union Congregation Church Cemetery, East Bridgewater, Mass. Rev. Marcia Cham will be the officiant. Committal prayers and final rites will be directed by The Arnold Moore Funeral Service. A native of Massachusetts, Sanford Clarence Nute was born on June 6, 1921 at Brockton. He was the son of the late Clarence William and Ruth Gladys (Buck) Nute. He was reared by his mother and step-father, Weston Jenkins and received his education in East Bridgewaater, Mass. He was graduated with the Senior Class of 1939 from the East Bridgewater High School. Mr. Nute was enlisted in the U. S. Army during World War II and served in the European Theatre and the North African Theatre. He was the recepient of two Purple Hearts and received his honorable discharge on October 30, 1945. He and Miss Arlene Gertrude Seeliger were married in 1947 at Brockton, Massachusetts and they made their home there. She preceded him in death. Mr. Nute was employed by Massachusetts General Hospital as an orderly and later worked for the Boston Sand and Gravel Yard. Mr. Nute began working in the construction and refurbishing of homes and was a licensed Union Carpenter, Local 1464. He and the former Mrs. Barbara (Tweedy) Palmer were married at Taunton, Mass. in 1963 and they made their home at East Bridgewater, Mass. Mr. Nute continued his trade until he was retired in l984. They had celebrated their 25th. Wedding Anniversary in l988 and she preceded him in death in l989. During his retirement he was employed by the East Bridgewater Public Library as custodian. He remained there until 2001 when he came to Bartlesville to live near his family. Mr. Nute was a member of the Union Congregatinal Church at East Bridgewater, Massachusetts. Surviving are his daughters, Ms. Pamela Ruth Beamguard, Bartlesville and Mrs. Shirley Jean Cavin and her husband, James, Wakita, Oklahoma, Mrs. Deborah Ann Cass and her husband, Robert, Guthrie, Oklahoma; six grandchildren, Heather Adams, Stefani Ferguson, Seth Schubert, Mandi Whitely , Jessica Cavin and Miriam Cass; three great grandchildren, Jayce Adams, Liam and Luke Ferguson; two sisters, Mrs. Ruth Barbara Kitchell, Halifax, Mass. and Mrs. Jean Shirley Card, Beverly, Mass.
