She grew up in Porum, Oklahoma where she met and Married her husband, Val Rogers. They cherished each other for 46 years only being parted by death. They came to Kern County in 1944, Orba accepted Jesus Christ as her Savior at a young age and was a faithful witness of Him through her life and death. Preceded in death by her husband, Val Rogers; her father and mother; two brothers, Lee and Robert; and two sisters, Ovella Kinslow and Geneva Johnson. Orba is survived by daughters, Martha Killian, Peggy Sharp and Sue Wilson; and son-in-law, Jimmy Wilson; 3 grandsons, Montye Killian, Shanon Wilson and Richie Kirkland;4 granddaughters, Jolene Kaldenberg, Leah Rice, Shyann Andino and Evalee Kirkland (the 7 grandchildren will be the pallbearers); great-grandchildren, Bobby, Matthew, Amie, Thompson, Sarah, Mitchel, Andru, Chelsie, Phillip, Amanda, Jeneva, Daniel, Megan, Jeffrey, Amber, and Chris; and great- great-grandchildren, Andru, Audry and Giana. Her remaining sister is June Hess of Lemoore, CA. Besides her relationship with Jesus Christ there was nothing more important to her than her family. What ever she put her hand to she did it with all her might. Orba loved camping on Eufala Lake in Eastern Oklahoma where she last water skied at the age of 65. She was very politically inclined and treasured her right to vote. Her grandchildren think that she made the best feather bed around and in every other aspect. if grandma couldn’t do it, it couldn’t be done. Mother was a fantastic seamstress with a specialty in designing wedding gowns. To those of us left behind our grief is great, but the assurance we have of a family reunion in Heaven bears us up.
