Sexton William E. Sexton, 72, died Monday morning at St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis. He was born in Bartlesville, Oklahoma, March 30, 1930, graduated from Bartlesville High School, The College of Wooster in Wooster, Ohio, and McCormick Theological Seminary in Chicago. Rev. Sexton was a Presbyterian minister having served churches in: Wrangler, Alaska; Littleton, Colorado; Broken Arrow, Oklahoma; Newton, Iowa; and Pontiac, Illinois. He came to Muncie in 1988 to serve as interim pastor of St. Andrew Presbyterian Church, and has served other interim pastorates at Noblesville, Terre Haute, Rockville, Hartford City and Winchester. He was a member of the Whitewater Valley Presbytery; was a leader of the Stephen Ministries at First Presbyterian Church; and a member of the Magic City Music Barbershop Chorus. Surviving are his wife, Sandy Febles Sexton, to whom he would have been married 50 years in September; four children, Steve Sexton, (wife, Debbie), Louisville, KY, Teri Hofer, Ankeny, Iowa, Nannette Gunn, (husband, Jay), Mt. Vernon, Iowa, and Tim Sexton, (wife, Trish), Tucson, Arizona; seven grandchildren, Jason and Christopher Sexton, Eric Hofer, Holly and Jordan Gunn, and Abby and Caleb Sexton; and three great grandchildren, Colin, Ashlyn and Morgan. Services will be 10:00 a.m. Thursday in the Chapel of First Presbyterian church with Rev. Ron Naylor officiating. Burial will follow at 3:00 p.m. in South Milford Cemetery in South Milford. Friends may call at The Meeks Mortuary from 4 until 8 p.m. Wednesday or a half hour prior to the services at the church of Thursday.
