Steed, Luther Lionel Luther Lionel Steed, age 74, of Del City, OK, passed away Dec. 20, 2002. Luther was born June 11, 1928 in Dewey, OK, to Cora Affie and Stephen Steed. He was the 4th of 9 children. He has 2 brothers: Charlie and wife Connie of Tulsa, and Joe Frank and wife Wendy of MWC; and 1 sister, Mary Jean Kennedy of MWC. Luther graduated from Shawnee High School and went on to graduate from Central State University. He retired from the United States Army as a Sergeant First Class, after serving 23 years, which included 2 tours in Vietnam. He retired from the Oklahoma Military Dept. in 1990, with 18 years. He was a lifetime member of the MWC Elk's Lodge # 1890, where he served in several capacities. He was also a member of the MWC Moose Lodge #1235, the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #9969, a lifetime member of the American legion Post #64, lifetime member of the Non- Commissioned Officers Assoc., and a lifetime member of the 45th Infantry Division Assoc. He was preceded in death by his wife of 40 years, Nellie Jo (Moore), and a daughter, Reba Denise (Young). He is survived by his children: Stephen F. Steed II and his beloved wife Becky, and their daughter Whitney Christina Nicole of Del City, Alonna J. Steed and her son Matthew Phillipe of MWC, Luther L. Steed II and his son Ian Caleb and 2 daughters Jacey Dawn and Sydnee Jolene of Del City, and Kenneth P. Steed and his beloved wife Cressa and their son Ethen Sheldon and step-children Alexandra Elizabeth, Kara Maekenzie, Lindsay Alyssa, and Timothy Joseph of Del City. He is also survived by grandson Stephen F. Steed III and his beloved wife Anita and 2 great-grandchildren, Drake Anthony and Cierra Marie of Del City, and Elisha Daniel Young of Del City; also many family and friends, too numerous to mention. Services will be held Monday, Dec. 23, 2002, at 10:00 am, in the Chapel at Bill Eisenhour Southeast, with burial to follow at Oklahoma Verteran's Cemetery.
