WAYNE SNOW K. Wayne Snow, a retired assistant controller in the Sonoma County Auditor's Office, died Thursday. He was 65. Born in Dewey, Okla., he had lived in Sonoma County about 30 years. He began his career with the county in 1969 and retired a few years ago, said his wife, Dolores B. Snow. The couple married in 1968. His wife said Snow became a "step-in father" to help with the rearing of her three children, all of whom were teens at the time. Snow served in the Marines during the Korean War. He helped found the Gravenstein Lions Club, where he had served as president, and also served as a past president of the Sebastopol Lions Club. He was a member of the Sonoma County Retired Employees Association. Along with his wife, he is survived by three step-children, Debby Barnes-Crosby of Napa and William "Tim" Barnes and Jimmy C. Barnes Sr., both of Santa Rosa; and by seven grandchildren. Services will be at 3 p.m. Sunday at Eggen & Lance Mortuary with the Rev. Michael E. Reed of Santa Rosa Baptist Church officiating.
