Smith Mr. Charles Eldon "Charlie" Smith, 52, husband of Mrs. Terry L. (Workman) Smith, and resident of Dewey, died at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday in the Jane Phillips Medical Center following a sudden illness. Funeral services for Mr. Smith will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday in the Chapel of the Arnold Moore - Dewey Funeral Home. Father Stephen Austin will be the officiant. Private family rites will be directed by the Arnold Moore - Dewey Funeral Home. A native of Oklahoma, Charles Eldon "Charlie" Smith was born in Bartlesville on October 14, 1950. He was the son of John C. and Ruth Ann (Watts) Smith. Charles was reared and received his education in St. John Parochial School andthe Bartlesville Schools. Charlie was graduated with the Senior Class of 1968 from the College High School. He and Kathleen Sue Swanson were married in Bartlesville and they made their first home in Dewey. Charles joined the Plumbers & Pipe Fitters Union #397. He had been a firefighter with the City of Bartlesville Fire Department. He and Terry Lou Workman were married in Miami, Okla. on March 13, 1987 and they made their home in Dewey. Mr. Smith continued his plumbing and pipefitting occupation. The Smith's had continued their residence in Dewey living in retirement. Charlie was a member of the St. John Catholic Church, the Plumbers and Pipe fitters Local #430 (formerly known as Local #397). He was an ardent fisherman and hunter and was a member of the Bartlesville Bass Masters, the OK Gun Club, and the American Quarter Horse Association. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Terry L. (Workman) Smith, of the Dewey home; two sons, Dexter Wayne and his wife, Joan, Perkins, Okla. and Justin Thomas Smith, Dewey, Okla.; two daughters, Ms. Janette Marie Smith, Bartlesville and Ms. Rebecca Ruth Smith of the Dewey home; his parents, John C. and Ruth Ann (Watts) Smith, Copan, Okla.; three sisters, Ms. Sarah Estell Tackett, Mrs. Larry (Mary Ellen) Beamguard and Mrs. Jimmie D. (Judy Elaine) Holloway, all of Bartlesville; two grandchildren, Chloe Ann Dean and Devon James Dean; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends.
