Touchstone Nell M. Touchstone Nell M. Touchstone, 90, of Amarillo died Saturday, May 18, 2002. Memorial services will be at 3 p.m. today in First Baptist Church Chapel with the Rev. Jeff Rains officiating. Private committal will be by Blackburn-Shaw Funeral Directors, Memorial Chapel, Fifth Avenue and Pierce Street. Mrs. Touchstone moved to Amarillo 50 years ago. She was a member of First Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, E.C. Touchstone. Survivors include two daughters, Charlotte Middleton and husband, Jim, of Bartlesville, Okla., and Pat N. Amato and husband, Joe, of Sagamore Hills, Ohio; a son, Donald B. Mathis of Tucson, Ariz.; three sisters, Clara M. West, Edna Bassett and Frances Benson, all of Amarillo; two brothers, James C. Pitts of Wichita, Kan., and Robert R. Pitts of Plainview; eight grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and her care giver, Wylafae Whatley of Amarillo. The family suggests memorials be to Crown of Texas Hospice, 1000 S. Jefferson, Amarillo, TX 79101; or to First Baptist Church, 1206 S. Tyler, Amarillo, TX 79101. Amarillo Globe-News, May 20, 2002
