Taylor Laura Jane Taylor age 85 of Bartlesville passed away Monday, March 10, 2003 at the Jane Phillips Medical Center in Bartlesville, OK. She was born February 26, 1918 in Nowata, Oklahoma to David Walter and Lucy Belle (Peters) Smithson. She grew up in Shilder and graduated from Webb City High School. She met and later married Lloyd H. Taylor on August 13, 1937 in Oklahoma City, OK. After their marriage Laura Jane and Lloyd H. resided in Caney for over twenty years before moving to Bartlesville. She was a receptionist for Doctor Moore and Doctor Hansen in Caney. She was a lifetime member of the Eastern Star, and a member of the Disciples of Christ Church. After Lloyd's retirement from Phillips Petroleum, she and Lloyd enjoyed several years of living in their Airstream Travel Trailer and traveling the United States. Laura Jane is survived by three sons and daughters-in-law: Hal and Janice Taylor of Caney, Mike and Susan Taylor of State College, PA, Doug and Diana Taylor of Tulsa, OK; one sister: Bessie Anderson of Lawton, OK; Grandchildren Terri, Tammy, Scott, Zack, Katy, Craig, John, Anne, Rachel, Great grandchildren: Hunter, Candace, Jessica, Brooke, Wyatt, and Lauren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Lloyd; three sisters and one brother. Visitation will be held from 8 am to service time Wednesday, March 12, 2003 at the Graves Funeral Home Chapel.
