Wallace Jr. Mr. James B. Wallace, Jr., age 75, husband of Judy Wallace and retired Chemical Engineer for Phillips Petroleum Company died Friday morning at Medicalodge of Dewey. Mr. Wallace was born on July 28, 1927 in Plainview, Texas, the son of James B. and Delia (Stangel) Wallace, Sr. He graduated from Plainview High School with the Class of 1945. He served in the U. S. Army Air Corp until January 1947. He graduated from Texas Tech University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Chemical Engineering in 1951. He started his career with Phillips Petroleum Company following graduation. He was recalled to military active duty in December 1953 and received his second honorable discharge in January 1955. Returning to work for Phillips in Borger, he met and married Judy Mangan on August 5, 1960, in Borger. They lived in Borger until moving to Bartlesville in May 1964. Other than assignments in Tokyo and Brussels, the Wallace's have made their home in Bartlesville. Mr. Wallace retired from Phillips in 1988. Mr. Wallace was a member of St. John's Catholic Church, a fourth Degree Knights of Columbus, and many professional organizations. He loved to do volunteer work and was known for his work at the St. John's School, Jane Phillips Medical Center, and helping with the literacy group. Mr. Wallace is survived by his wife, Judy, of 42 years; three children, Tony Wallace and wife Jennifer of Houston, TX, Joe Wallace and wife Rebecca of St. Louis, MO, and Ann Stafford and husband Keith of St. Louis, MO; two sisters, Flora Ezzell of Borger, TX and Mary Rogers of Lubbock, TX; and seven grandchildren. His parents preceded him in death. A rosary service for Mr. Wallace will be held 7:30 p.m. Sunday at St. John's Catholic Church and the funeral mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday at St. John's with Father Stephen Austin and Monsignor Drake Stafer officiating. Burial will be on the family plot in Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of the Neekamp Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established in Mr. Wallace's name with the Alzheimers Association.
