All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ===================================================================== Bennett Powers was born in 1856 to John W. Powers and Sara M. (Long) Powers of Henderson County Tennessee. Bennett's grandfather, Bennett Powers, was the first of the Powers line to move into Henderson County Tennessee, where Bennett was reared and met Eliza Adline Mosier of that locality. Eliza and Bennett were soon married and moved to Salem, Dunklin County Missouri where they were located during the 1880 census. They are shown with children; W.T, (6 Mo), Marry M (4 Tenn), Rebeca L (3 Tenn) and Parlee (1 Mo). We can draw from the above information that Bennett was in Tennessee until 1874 when he moved to Missouri. They moved back to Tennessee before 1876 then moved back to Missouri by 1879. I would find in the 1900 Federal Census of Washita County Oklahoma, Bennett and Eliza had two other sons, Albert H (1883 Tenn) and Marvin F (1886 Tenn). This would indicate they family moved back to Tennessee prior to 1883. I also found that Eliza married to Daniel Webster on 10 Nov 1892 in Canadian County Oklahoma Territory. Nothing more is found of Bennett possibly indicating he died at an early age. Daniel and Eliza Webster were in Washita County Oklahoma until their deaths in 1919 and 1931 respectively. The children; Mary Melinda "Molly" Powers married John Mosier around 1890 in Tennessee. William Thomas Powers married Nancy Elizabeth Thruman, Rebbeca Luella Powers married Elbert Harrison Luttrell, Parlee Powers married Samuel Jasper Farmer, Albert Henry Powers married Hattie Mae Bynum and Martin F Powers married Emma Britt Mershon. Most of these children lived in Washita County or nearby for a decade or so. Daniel and Eliza Webster had two daughters and a son; Minnie Maybelle Webster (1894 Oklahoma), Samuel Harrison Webster (1895 Oklahoma) and Gladys Estella Webster (1899 Oklahoma). Minnie married Frank Herrin and moved to the Wasco California area, Samuel Harrison married Callie A Beatty and Samuel died in Washita County Oklahoma. Gladys E married John F "Frank" Joslin and Gladys died in Okmulgee Oklahoma. For more information on this family, see my ancestry.com site under the names and date mentioned above.
