SECTIONS The cemetery is divided into three sections that are divided by driveways. The sections have been arbitrarily designated the EAST, NORTHWEST, AND SOUTHWEST sections. The east section is the oldest part of the cemetery. NU 578 713-331-3359 1993 FORWARD LOCATION South Burns Cemetery is located 2 miles south and 1 3/4 miles west of the intersection of hi NUMBERING SYSTEM The cemetery was divided into sections and rows. Row 1 is the first row on the east end of each section. Several obvious grave sites are without stones. Numerous graves have native stones without any markings. The deceased’s name in these graves is unknown. REASON FOR RECORD Many members of my family as well as my wife’s, Betty’s (Simpson), family are buried at South Burns. We wanted a record of the burials in the cemetery to be as complete as possible and copies of the buried record placed in public records repositories. This would help others determine if they have members of their family buried at South Burns. Unfortunately, we do not have information on burials that do not have a stone on the grave.
