She departed this life June 24, 2002 at Great Plains Regional Hospital in Elk City at the age of 82 years, eight months and 25 days. Alice moved to Clinton from Kansas. She was united in marriage to Luther Black June 29, 1969 at Clinton. She was a member of the Catholic Church. Alice had enjoyed bowling, bridge, crocheting and cards. She had worked at Robertsons Factory and cooked at Cordell School. Preceding her in death were her parents; five sisters; one brother; son Wayne Black; and husband, Lawrence Smith. Survivors include her husband, Luther Black of the home; children: Omega Wolf of Liberal, KS, Bob Black of Burns Flat, and Ojuna Thomas of Little Rock, Arkansas; two brothers: Ralph Goetz of Pratt, KS and Donald Goetz of Salina, KS; 12 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren and five great-great- grandchildren. Funeral services for Alice Black were held Thursday, June 27 at 10 a.m. at St. Ann's Catholic Church in Cordell. Interment, under the direction of McClure Funeral Home, followed in Clinton Cemetery.
