She passed away June 18, 2002 in the Bell Avenue Nursing Center, Elk City, Oklahoma at the age of 76 years, five months and 14 days. Alieen attended school at Holy Family and Canute. After her brothers left to go and serve their country during World War II, she left school and continued to live on the farm and care for her parents. She worked at the Cotton Bowl Motel and later provided home health care to many residents in Canute. She was a member of the Saint Matthew Catholic Church and was active in their senior citizens group. She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Phyllis and Ernest. The Prayer Vigil will be Wednesday, June 19th at 7:00 p.m. in the Whinery-Savage Chapel. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday, June 20, 2002 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Matthew Catholic Church, officiated by Father Timothy Fuller. Burial will be at Holy Family Cemetery under the direction of Whinery-Savage Funeral Service. She is survived by: one brother and sister-in-law, Raphael and Ragine Schones of Canute; two nieces, Dianne Peffer and husband Larry of Elk City and Lannell West and husband, Ray of Okarche; three nephews, George Schones of Foss, Douglas Schones and wife Kathy of Elk City and Ray Schones and wife Cathy of Canute; six great nieces, six great nephews and a host of other relatives.
