Ballard Was Buried Tuesday. The remain of Mrs. W. Ballard of Cheyenne were laid to rest by the side of her husband in Cheyenne cemetery Tuesday afternoon following funeral services in the Baptist church. Mrs. Ballard succumbed Sunday night after having suffered for many months from cancer. Funeral services were conducted by Rev. J.H. Bradley of Wetumka, Oklahoma and Rev. James of Vernone, Texas. Bro. Bradley is a former pastor of the Cheyenne Bapist Church and Bro. James a former superintendent of the Cheyenne School. Lillie M. Farmsworth Ballard was born near Wahoo, Nebraska on August 23, 1876 and departed this life June 24, 1940 at the age of 63 years, 10 months and 1 day. When about five years of age her parents moved to Brainard, Nebraska, where she lived until she was sixteen, then went with her parents to Siloam Springs, Arkansas. In Decedmber 1899, they came to Lincoln County, Oklahoma, here she met and later married Wilbert Monroe Ballard on March 30, 1901. They went to Washita County, Oklahoma, where they established their home, and their daughter, Bernice, was born. About 1903 they moved to their homestead near Reydon, Oklahoma. Here they lived until 1919, when they moved to Cheyenne, Oklahoma, where they have resided ever since. She was converted at the age of twenty and united with the Baptist church in which she remained a faithful, consistent Christian until her passing. She was always ready to help those who were in need, and her ready smile brought a bright moment to those with whom she came in contact. Her friends were many for to know her was to love her. She leaves to mourn her departure one daughter and four sons: Bernice Tidwell and Royal Ballard, both of Cheyenne, Oklahoma; Jody Ballard, Pharr, Texas; Dwight Ballard, Copus Christi, Texas; and Kenneth Ballard, Reydon, Oklahoma. Also three sisters: Mrs. M.J. Terry, Bethany, Oklahoma; Mrs. Daisy Miller, Watherloo, Iowa; and Mrs. G.W. Stiles, Keyes, Oklahoma; and one brother, H.A. Farnsworth, Elkhart, Kansas, which were all present at the time of her passing, and also three granddaughters, Joetta, Joan, Jancia, besides other relatives and a host of friends. Her husband and infant son preceded her in death. Those from a distance attending the funeral were. Worth, Texas; Mr. and Mrs. Earl Pierce, Balko, Oklahoma; Mr. and Mrs. H.G. Creekmore of Hitchock, Oklahoma.
