Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Monday in Ural Cemetery in Beckham County, Okla., with Sid Smith, minister of Church of Christ in Shamrock, officiating. Arrangements are by Wright Funeral Directors. Mr. Bland was born in Cordell, Okla., and lived in several towns in the Texas Panhandle for most of his life. He was an Army Air Corps veteran of World War II. He moved to Shamrock eight years ago. He was employed as a mill operator for Moody Farms Feedlot and Heritage Beef Cattle Co., before his retirement. He married Thelma Anderson in 1972 at Amarillo. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Judy Mayne, in 1994 and by a stepdaughter, Linda Jean Croy, also in 1994. Survivors include his wife; five daughters, Ethel Taylor of Pampa, Phylis Martin of Jasper, Jackie Thompson of Grove City, Ohio, Joe Helen Grimes of Alton, Ill., and Carolyon West of Pampa; three stepdaughters, Helen Kimbrell of Brownwood, and Juanita Strain and Lois Flippin, both of Fort Worth; a brother, Jack Bland of Houston; 24 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
